I was so excited when Ashley Wild approached me to shoot her latest collection of bridal accessories. Ashley makes really fashion forward pieces, and I absolutely love her style. We initially met for a coffee to have a chat about what Ashley needed and to look over her initial inspiration images and discuss what we’d need to bring together to make her vision for the images a reality. The brief was to create product shots for Ashley’s website and brochures as well as some key campaign images which could be used for advertising.
Ashley had sourced dresses and the most epic bridal dungarees from our mutal friend Tara Bradley-Birt as well as bringing on board King & Bentley for make up. We also needed a space to shoot in. The reference images Ashley showed me, were all studio shots. I’m not a studio photographer, I prefer to work with available, natural light so I knew we needed to hunt down a space with great natural light so Casterley Barn immediately sprang to mind. I also sourced plants, kindly loaned by Paloma Lily, and our model Sarah whose look fits with Ashley’s brand brilliantly.
We had a lot of fun on the shoot day, and we were both delighted with the results. I bumped into Ashley at a wedding fair a few months after the shoot and she remarked that her sales had increased and that she was sure having good quality images had made all the difference. Visit Ashley’s website to see the images in use here.
Ashley said “ Lydia was an absolute dream from start to finish! We had a great meeting where we went over what I wanted from the shoot, which really put my mind at ease that she completely understood how I wanted to images to turn out. She was always on the end of an email to answer questions and send ideas. On the day of my shoot she was the air of calm and organisation that I needed! I was so pleased with the final shots”
