In January I shot Victoria Fergusson‘s new ‘MUSE’ collection at the beautiful Somerley Estate. Victoria is an incredibly skilled bridal accessories designer and I’ve been photographing her work for years now. Her collection shoot is always a highlight of my year, and I look forward to seeing what beautiful pieces she’s created for her latest range. Victoria hand makes each of the pieces you see here herself in her Wiltshire studio; painstakingly stitching each crystal, bead and pearl herself by hand. I don’t know how she works with such precision! Each piece is finished with the most incredible attention to detail and made with the highest quality components, real pearls and Swarovski crystal.

When Victoria said she wanted her collection shoot images for 2019 to be darker than the usual bright, fresh images we go for I knew Somerley would be the perfect backdrop. It’s a truly incredible house to behold and the light from the large windows in the breath taking gallery is exquisite. This combined with the sumptuous tones of the room created the perfect backdrop to create just what she was after. Working with natural daylight in January it can be a race against the clock to get everything done but after we’d shot the full collection we finished with a new headshot of Victoria. I can tell she doesn’t love getting in front of the lens, but I love the fact she has a headshot to match the collection images. As well as product shots of each piece for Victoria’s website I love capturing a bit of the behind the scenes action which is always good fodder for Victoria’s social media.
